Objective

Practice full-scope, primary care and medical optometry.

My years with the Indian Health Service as well as commercial and private practice have given me experience in medical management of various eye, vision, and brain conditions including:

NPDR, CSME, PDR, PVDs, VMAs, VKH, ALL, K and conj. FB, keratoconus, iritis (gran. and non-gran.), episcleritis, glaucomas, cataracts, AMD, high RE, anisometropia, amblyopia, GPC, conjunctivitis, DES, MGD, hordeolum, phlyctenulosis, marginal K infiltrates, central keratitis,  RCE, K abrasion, pingueculitis, inflamed pterygium, Dellen, macular hole, RD, retina holes, adeno-keratitis, pituitary adenoma, hyphema, orbital/preceptal cellulitis, III/IV/VI nerve palsies, pituitary adenoma, papilledema, CRVO, BRVO, CME, phthiriasis, & more.

When I worked in Wyoming, our surgeon comes to town monthly from Billings, so I routinely co-managed cataract, YAG, and glaucoma surgical procedures pre and post-operatively.

I feel that I am an expert refractionist and routinely diagnose: astigmatism, myopia, hyperopia, anisometropia, amblyopia (strabismic and refractive). I am versed in topography, and I routinely and reliably use my retinoscope with the phoropter and skiascopy lens bars. I detect CE, CI, DE, DI, eso, exo, accommodative paresis, and I treat these with glasses and/or easy home VT assignments.  I am very familiar with all soft contact lens modalities and easily work with my labs for GP fits.

I am competent with PIM/EHR software and computer networks and have experience with Revolution EHR and IHS’s RPMS-EHR.  I know how to accurately code my exam encounters with appropriate CPT procedure codes and  ICD-10 diagnosis codes.
